Hire our Scout Hall

If you’re looking for hall hire in Ely, the 1st Ely Scout hall is available for bookings during the daytime and at weekends, as well as during the school holidays. It is in use for groups each weekday evening during school term times, so there is generally no availability for hire on a Monday-Friday evening unless during school holidays.

The hall is used by interest groups & societies, fitness classes, training courses, play sessions, recruitment drop-ins, AGMs and more. It is also a popular venue for children’s birthday parties.

Use of the hall includes chairs, tables, a kitchen with tea & coffee making facilities, cookery equipment and crockery, a full set of plastic reusable party plates / bowls / cups / jugs. There are accessible toilets with baby-changing facilities, and the building benefits from level floor access for wheelchair users. There is good Wi-Fi, a data projector with freestanding projector screen and whiteboards.

Hiring the hall for public users costs £17.50 per hour or £100 per day.

Excellent and affordable venue. We had a lovely birthday party at the Scout Hut for our daughter's 5th birthday. The venue is spacious and comes with chairs, tables, a well stocked kitchen etc. The fact that there is a brilliant playpark just behind the building is a massive plus too! Would highly recommend.

Great experience hiring this place for a kids party. Really friendly and helpful staff! Even though we paid only for a few hours, they gave us the key in advance so we could drop off most of the stuff the night before and there was no rush to leave by a certain time either. Really helped to make the experience less stressful!

Excellent experience of hiring the scout hut for my little boy's 6th birthday party!
It is clean and spacious and everything you need is available to use. We felt it was a very reasonable price per hour and the option to self-clean or pay £20 cleaning fee was also helpful.
Excellent communication from Brian who ensured we were booked in correctly and key given and collected promptly.
Thank you very much, we will be back for more events in the future!

We held our daughter’s 5th birthday party at the Ely Scout hut. The hall was spacious with forty chairs that we arranged in thirty around the provided tables and ten along the wall for parent seating. The kitchen was well-stocked. The toilets were clean and spacious which was great for thirty children. The window between the kitchen and the main hall was handy for serving drinks and cake. We had an entertainer who provided bubbles and a large parachute for games. Also Brian was really responsive answering my many questions. He met us at the hall before and after the event.

Such a great space for a party — an incredibly well-equipped kitchen and a lovely, large, bright, and clean main area. Perfect.

We hired the scout hut for my daughters birthday party and it was perfect for her and all her classmates, loads of space to dance and for the buffet/parents. The kitchen had everything you needed to do food prep and was super organised and labelled so no hunting for things. Tables and chair/benches available so plenty of seating and the hall was nicely warm too.
I booked the hall with Brian the scout leader who was a total pleasure to communicate with and made the whole process easy. Great price too and free parking outside. Would highly recommend and will use again for my other daughters birthday!
